AUSTIN, Texas – February 22, 2025 – Altogen Labs today detailed its 14-week patient-derived xenograft and chemotherapy testing program, a defined-timeline service for sponsors evaluating compounds against tumor material that retains the genetics and histology of the originating patient tumor.
Patient-derived xenografts offer the highest translational relevance available in preclinical oncology, but they are also the most operationally demanding models to run — engraftment rates vary, passage timing is unpredictable, and programs without experienced handling can lose months. Altogen Labs offers the work on a defined 14-week structure so that sponsors can plan around it.
The program supports evaluation of novel compounds alone and in combination with standard chemotherapy, generating the comparator data that investors, partners, and regulators expect to see. Altogen Labs maintains dozens of PDX models within a broader collection of over 100 validated CDX models and 14 syngeneic murine models, with PDX coverage across lung, pancreatic, prostate, colorectal, and breast cancer.
The company also offers patient-derived cell cultures and patient-derived organoids from the same category of material, allowing in vitro screening and in vivo confirmation to be run against matched biology. All studies are conducted at the company’s GLP-compliant, IACUC-regulated Austin, Texas facility, with complete experimental procedures, health reports, raw data, and statistical analysis delivered to the sponsor, who retains 100% of resulting intellectual property.
