Altogen Labs Validated Xenograft Portfolio Surpasses 115 CDX Models

AUSTIN, Texas – March 3, 2022 – Altogen Labs has expanded its in-house validated tumor model collection to 115 cell line-derived xenograft (CDX) models, 30 patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models, and over 40 syngeneic models, following the addition of seven newly validated models: A549, BT474, HUH7, MDA-MB-231, MKN-74, NCI-N87, and PC-3.

Model breadth is not a vanity metric. Preclinical oncology fails most often at the translation step, and one of the most controllable causes is testing a compound against a model that does not reflect the biology of the intended patient population. Compared with in vitro tissue culture, xenograft studies represent tumor architecture more accurately and give a better reflection of an anticancer compound’s true efficacy. A laboratory with 115 validated models can match the model to the mechanism; a laboratory with a dozen cannot.

The additions strengthen coverage across lung, breast, liver, gastric, and prostate cancer. Each model enters the collection only after tumor growth curves have been established and reproduced across multiple independent studies at the Altogen Labs facility, ensuring sponsors receive predictable kinetics and interpretable results.
