Altogen Labs provides a variety of biological laboratory CRO research services, including in vivo toxicology studies, as well as preclinical trials to measure the toxicity and pharmacological activity of investigative new drugs (INDs). These trials assess a compound’s therapeutic potential and safety for human use. All Altogen Labs services are GLP compliant and in vivo services are regulated by IACUC.
In vivo toxicology analysis services include evaluation of drug toxicity in vitro (cell culture) and in vivo (rodents). In vitro studies are designed to measure the mechanisms of chemical-induced and drug-induced toxicity on target cells without the living biological systems’ metabolic and immune system interference. After completing in vitro studies, the experimental compound can then be tested in a living system (in vivo), generally referred to as a biological model system. In a such model system, the compound can be administered through a variety of methods (intravenous, intraperitoneal, oral, intratumoral, intramuscular, intratracheal, subcutaneous, etc) as described and as defined in the IACUC protocol and with a variety of dosage concentrations (to establish a dose-response phenotype).
At Altogen Labs, in vivo toxicology services are designed to measure acute, chronic and subchronic toxicology of INDs based on the length of time that a given substance is exposed to the subject. Acute toxicity exposure is used for examining the short-term side effects of a single large dosage of a compound. Subchronic and chronic toxicology are used to examine the long-term toxicological effects of experimental compound. The overall goal of in vivo toxicology studies is to provide information to anticipate and optimize the efficacy and potential toxicological effects of experimental compound.
We offer complete A-to-Z RNAi gene silencing services: gene targeting, siRNA synthesis, chemical modification, functional in vitro validation, siRNA encapsulation, in vivo siRNA protection, and tissue targeted delivery.
In addition, Altogen Labs also offers teratoma formation with embryonic or induced pluripotent stem cells for research purposes. This technique can be used to evaluate potential stem cell-based therapies and allows study of stem cells in vivo. Other stem cell services at Altogen Labs include adipogenesis studies, which allows examination of the formation of adipocytes. The dysfunction of these lipid-storing cells may be a culprit in a number of diseases, including diabetes, athersclerosis and cancer. We also provide cell culture decontamination services to ensure our clients’ cell lines are free of harmful contaminants such as mycoplasma, fungi, bacteria, and yeast.
At Altogen Labs, we recognize that providing fast delivery of products and services is critical to expediting research. We are committed to meeting our clients’ timely needs while maintaining high quality and integrity. All of our services undergo rigorous QC procedures.
