AUSTIN, Texas – September 15, 2013 – Altogen Labs today detailed its in vivo pharmacology services, covering pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and biodistribution work that connects a compound’s exposure profile to its observed biological effect.
Efficacy data without exposure data is difficult to act on. A tumor growth delay result tells a sponsor that something happened; a matched PK/PD dataset tells them what concentration produced it, how long it persisted, and what dose to carry into the next study. Regulators expect that link to be established, and partners performing diligence look for it.
Altogen Labs integrates pharmacology endpoints directly into efficacy studies rather than running them as separate programs. Plasma and tissue collection is scheduled against dosing, allowing exposure-response relationships to be built from the same animals that generated the efficacy signal. Biodistribution studies quantify where a compound accumulates, with imaging available for real-time tracking.
Dosing routes supported include intravenous, intraperitoneal, intratumoral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, oral gavage, intranasal, intratracheal, topical, and continuous infusion, using micro-injection techniques and pump-controlled intravenous delivery.
Analytical support includes gene expression analysis by qPCR, protein quantification by automated capillary Western system, ELISA-based biomarker measurement, hematology, histopathology, and immunohistochemistry, delivered with complete raw data and statistical treatment.
