AUSTIN, Texas – April 20, 2024 – Altogen Labs has published details of its in vitro toxicology and genotoxicity service portfolio, giving sponsors access to early safety signals well before an in vivo program is committed.
Genotoxicity liabilities discovered late are among the most expensive failures in drug development. Altogen Labs performs micronucleus and comet assays for DNA damage evaluation, allowing sponsors to identify mutagenic potential during lead optimization rather than during IND-enabling toxicology.
Cytotoxicity assessment includes MTT, LDH, and live/dead assays for cell viability, run across the company’s extensive cell line collection to establish therapeutic index before dose selection for in vivo work. Three-dimensional cell culture models — spheroid and organoid cultures — provide systems that better mimic the in vivo environment than monolayer culture, improving the predictive value of in vitro results and supporting reduction in animal use in line with new approach methodology principles.
